Top Food Critic, Gail Simmons
Sometimes you are desperate to go out to dinner and just don’t know where to go Luckily, that is what food critics are for. One food critic you may know serves as a judge on a popular television show on Bravo — Top Chef. That food critic and chef is Gail Simmons. Simmons was born on May 19, 1976 in Toronto, Canada. She comes from a family that is familiar with food industry as her mother was a Globe and Mail magazine food critic. She attended McGill University in Montreal where she studied Anthropology and Spanish. She went on to study at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is currently a special projects director for Food & Wine Magazine and lives in New York with her husband and daughter.
Gail Simmons has been a judge on the television show Top Chef since 2006, the show’s first season. In 2010, she hosted the show Top Chef: Just Desserts, a spin-off of Top Chef. On the website KitchenDaily.com, she hosted her own web-series named The Pantry Project, in which she uses kitchen ingredients that we all have, but are a little odd, and shows the people at home how they can make a new meal.
